A faster team would have started coding. We started by asking what the product was actually for, and the answer rewrote everything that came after. The real problem wasn't compliance. It was trust, and trust had to be baked into every interaction, not bolted on after.
We embedded with the founders, reframed the brief, and co-designed the systems alongside them, so when the MVP shipped they owned every decision and could defend every trade-off in a room of investors or scholars.
